WHAT IS THE PROCESS For C KIDS THRIVE INDIVIDUAL FAMILY SUPPORT?

A program begins with a free Exploration Call to assess suitability.

The program then begins with an comprehensive intake, observation at home & the child’s educational institution (if applicable). Includes listening to the child’s perspective if applicable and gathering information from the family and relevant professionals.

Recommendations would then be provided for the family and school/kindergarten on how to best support the child. The program also involves ongoing training & support/collaboration for parents/professionals & continual evaluation of program effectiveness.

HOW LONG IS A PROGRAM?

The program continues until the child’s family/professionals can continue without ongoing support. Previous programs have spanned from 1 to 3 years.

WHAT HAPPENS IN A PROGRAM?

C KIDS THRIVE focuses on working with the whole family. The program for the children is play-based (for developmentally ‘younger’ children) with specific strategies to highlight their strengths and scaffold their learning to manage their challenges. For ‘developmentally older’ children, the focus is on collaboratively working together with the child to discover strategies and strengths that enable them to be connected, calm and compassionate towards themselves and others.

WHAT IS THE PARENT'S ROLE IN THE PROGRAM?

C Kids is committed to supporting families to understand both the latest neuro-science of behaviour, and child development information, to be able to practically apply it in their child's daily life. Dependent on the child's need; the program can involve

  • C Kids collaborates with existing professionals/school/kindergarten/     home school & parents to create a more comprehensive program/support plan
  • ongoing coaching for parents (min. 1x per month)
  • individual coaching/counselling with child/teen when appropriate
